Compassion International is a beautiful organization that brings hope and love to children in poverty. If you do not sponsor a child already, please seriously consider the $38 a month that you could give to change a child’s life. Not only that, but you can start a friendship with the precious child whom you sponsor by writing them letters and sending photos and little gifts! I have 3 sponsored children, and it is a joy of my month to send a check off and letters a few times a month to Colorado Springs. If you don’t live in the US, there is most likely a Compassion program in your country, too. Check here for the list of countries. Sponsor a Child Today!
TIME Ministries is a wonderful ministry, founded by Doretta and Zeral Brown, that seeks to spread God’s love and His life-transforming GOOD news by partnering with teams that come down to help build chapels (usually 24 x 24 ft) in rural villages for congregations that have no building in which to meet. It is such a neat avenue for sharing TRUTH with the Dominican people (or in Mexico, if you go there!). I was transformed this summer (2012) when I went to the Dominican Republic. I pray that God has in store for me to go back, because I would love to be a summer intern with TIME in the near future!
